Grand L. Bush is a veteran American actor, appearing in scores of stage, television and major motion picture projects.
Shakespearean-trained, Grand L. Bush studied film and theatre at the Los Angeles City College Theatre Academy, University of Southern California and the Strasberg Academy in Hollywood, CA. Bush continued his acting education by performing at the historic Globe Theatre, the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles and the annual Shakespeare Festival in Garden Grove, CA.

Bush's introduction to cinema began in 1977, when he landed a guest-starring role on the CBS sitcom Good Times. Bush later acted in other television episodics and miniseries, including Roots, before joining the cast of Miloš Forman's rock musical Hair in 1979, in which he performed a solo in the feature film.

Bush also performed in other musical dramas, including the TV series Fame and the feature film Streets of Fire. 

By the 1980s, Bush had become a sought-after film performer.

Bush was honored to appear in Sidney Poitier's Stir Crazy (opposite the late Richard Pryor and the late Gene Wilder. 

Pryor and Bush shared the same screen again in 1985, for Walter Hill's Brewster's Millions, a comedy film that included the greatness of the late John Candy.

Bush's most notable contributions to cinema were his stellar performances in Licence To Kill (portraying 'DEA Agent Hawkins', opposite Timothy Dalton's 'James Bond'), Lethal Weapon (opposite Mel Gibson and Danny Glover), Die Hard (starring Bruce Willis), and Colors (starring Robert Duvall and Sean Penn).

By 1990, Bush had become a veteran of stage, television and major motion pictures. He was hand-picked by the late William Peter Blatty to perform opposite George C. Scott in The Exorcist III. 

Bush has acted opposite Sylvester Stallone in Demolition Man. Bush also played actor Todd Bridges' father in Building Bridges, an autobiographical film about the rise and fall of the child star of Diff'rent Strokes.

In 1994, Bush was cast in the role of 'Balrog' in Capcom's live action feature film Street Fighter, directed by Steven E. de Souza. To prepare for his role, Bush trained with world kickboxing champion Benny Urquidez in Bangkok, Thailand, and Brisbane, Australia. Bush later portrayed the character 'Balrog' in worldwide arcade games as well as home console games.

Writer/producer Dean Devlin and Bush worked together on two television series (Hard Copy on CBS in 1987 and The Visitor on FOX in 1997).

​Bush and fellow actor Robert Davi co-starred in three films together (Die Hard, Licence To Kill and Maniac Cop 3). Bush has worked on two of Steven E. de Souza's films (Die Hard and Street Fighter).

More than 35 feature films in which Bush has appeared have been archived as Turner Classic Movies, including Street Fighter. 

Bush is married to award-winning journalist Sharon Crews (now Sharon Dahlonega Bush), who currently manages his public engagements.

HARD FEELINGS

Grand L. Bush was nominated by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television in the category of 'Best Performance by a Foreign Actor' for Hard Feelings, a feature film directed by Daryl Duke.

​Bush portrayed Latham Lockhart, one of the film's three lead characters. 


"Earning an international nomination was exhilarating," Bush said. "It was superseded only by attending the Genie Awards in person. That was an awesome event."
